The Research Laboratory in St Luke’s, Rathgar has recently undergone a significant refurbishment programme.
These laboratory facilities, together with the unique on-site access to modern radiotherapy treatment units and a research linac, offer further opportunities to develop research, teaching and an additional dimension to clinical trials work.
The laboratory will allow for core research programmes such as radio-resistance, effect of radiation on the miRNA system in cancer cells, investigating the bystander effect with varying radiation delivery modes. These core research themes would lend themselves well to shorter term projects such as Clinical and Physics Fellows, MSc and PhD students, physicians seeking to gain research experience as well as MD projects.
